Life Saving Skills
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training teaches individuals how to respond in emergencies when someone’s heart stops or they stop breathing. It involves performing chest compressions, giving rescue breaths, and using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) when necessary. Every year, nearly 350,000 people in the U.S. experience out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, and the survival rate is significantly higher when CPR is performed immediately. In fact, bystander CPR can double or triple survival chances, with a 2 to 3 times higher chance of survival when CPR is started early. If an AED is placed on a victim within 2-3 minutes of cardiac arrest, the chance of survival can increase by as much as 85%, with each passing minute significantly decreasing the survival rate by around 10%. Additionally, 70% of cardiac arrests occur at home, making it crucial for family members and caregivers to be trained.
But CPR is just one part of being prepared for emergencies. First Aid training is equally important for handling everyday situations, from cuts and burns to broken bones and severe allergic reactions. Choking is another leading cause of injury, especially for young children, and happens most frequently at home. In fact, unintentional choking is the fourth leading cause of injury-related death for children under 5. Knowing the correct steps to perform for a choking emergency or how to manage a first aid situation can save lives.
CPR and First Aid training are essential for everyone — from healthcare professionals to parents, teachers, coaches, and employees in high-risk environments. It empowers you to act confidently and effectively in critical situations, potentially saving lives. Whether you’re looking to protect your family, improve workplace safety, or simply feel more confident in an emergency, CPR and First Aid training are vital skills that can make all the difference.
